It is written for U.K. Readers. If I had known I wouldn't have bought it. It also has the same patterns as the other book, same title but with the owl hat. The book itself is perfect if you prefer or do well with non-US terminology. I bought both books thinking there were different patterns.I bought this book along with Ms. Mooncie's "Crochet Animal hats 15 patterns..etc. Don't be fooled as great as they are, they are the SAME book. I can't give it a negative review because it has great patterns. Just be careful. Some of the pattern pieces are the same, no matter which animal you're making, so it's a good idea only to have it written out once. Surfing through the book to find the pattern piece I wanted gave me lots of inspiration for the next one.The instructions are really well written and easy to follow, and give great shaping to the pieces. There are quite a few pieces in each hat, but the instructions are clear and well set out.So which one shall I make next? I have a list!This is a really fun book, using mainly double crochet stitch and chunky wool, you can design a wide range of animal hats for both adults and children. The patterns cover a wide range of farm and wild animals such as pigs, bears, reindeer and duck as well as pets such as dogs and rabbitsMy first project was the Frog hat in adult size. Although I only learnt to crochet over the summer, it look me less than wa week to make the hat as it works on a Oh what a lovely book!!!! Lots of lovely patterns for children and adults! My favourite are the parrot and the sheep on the front cover. There are charts involved which I don't generally use but I am sure that won't be a problem - just a challenge which won't hurt me ! Can't wait to get started on these patterns!!!Brilliant book, the patterns are so easy to follow and the photos are a great help. I have made many of these hats but used alternative wools as the ones recommended are quite expensive, but the end result is just as good.Superb book, with clear instructions for making 15 different animal hats with clear charts and written patterns -using British terminology. The only reason I haven't given it the full 5 stars is because the patterns require you to jump around the book to use different parts.
